Well everyone, you get to see two beautiful sweaters today. One of them (Sweet Mary Jane) has been on here before, but I made some significant alterations, so I think it deserves a second post. (By the way, it’s in the high 70′s in Tampa right now. Perfect sweater weather, right?)
First off, here’s the Deep V Sweater:

Stats:
Yarn: KnitPicks Shine Sport in Grass (11 balls)
Needles: Size 5 and Size 3 (for ribbing)
Pattern: Deep V Sweater for Erika Knight’s Classic Knits
Mods: I took about 1″ off the sleeves. They’re still really long, but I like them that way. I also knitted the neckband in the round.
What I would change next time: This would be better knitted in the round. The seams took forever. The body is pretty loose, so if you want a fitted sweater, bring in the sides more. It’s really comfy, and the cotton blend yarn works well for Florida. I see myself wearing this one a lot.
Next, Sweet Mary Jane re-vamped:

What I changed: I ripped out the original neckline and re-knitted it. I didn’t like how that turned out, so I steeked the neckline and knitted a shawl collar. I got rid of the buttons and wove a ribbon through the eyelets and buttonholes corset style to turn this into something of a pullover. It’s still a bit too warm for most days, but I still love it.
Be on the lookout for the pattern to the Crochet Squared Messenger Bag. I should post it on here within the next week.

beautiful work! Love the revamp version. Way to go…and it might work better in a FL winter, no?
