Daily Outfit: Keep it Simple

Going once again with the Inspiration Calendar, Tuesday called for a simple patterned dress, which work well considering that it was the hottest day so far this summer, with a heat index of 110!  A nice, light dress was exactly what I needed on a day like this.  The heat was unbearable, so I spent as much time as possible indoors.  I actually started to feel light-headed midday, which is bizarre, because I drink insane amounts of water every day.

dress

This dress was a recent Express purchase, and I absolutely love it.  The print, the drapey neckline and the deep back all lend a nice elegance to it, while the short and simple serged hem keeps it from being overly dressy.  It looks great both belted and unbelted.  If I get some more coupons, I may go back for another one in black or blue.

back

I love how easy it is to accessorize a simple black and white dress.  There are so many possibilities and combinations.  For today’s look, I was aiming for slightly more professional, since I had to deal with some potential employment related paperwork.  I threw on a black cardigan while indoors to make it a bit more work appropriate.  I still haven’t had any more interviews, but I’m not giving up hope!

clarks

I love my new Clarks Apple Sky.  They’re very comfortable and elegant.  I love that the toe box  is pointier than most of my other shoes, but still doesn’t squeeze the life out of my feet.
